Well, West Coast EDM had the opportunity to chat with the legend himself. Check out the exclusive interview below!

West Coast EDM: Let’s talk about this new EP and how it came together. What was your initial vision for this EP and how did the end result differ from what you envisioned?
KTWC: I wanted to create something you could vibe with at a party in the tropics, on a beach or in the jungle. I had all these beats that I'd been creating in that style so I started searching for vocalists who could really take them to the next level. That’s how Coastal came to be. I'm really happy with the final product and all the support its been getting.

West Coast EDM: Outside of the collabs themselves, who are some of the artists that inspired your style in this EP?
KTWC: Definitely Deep Forest, Calvin Harris, and Disclosure.

West Coast EDM: Other than a good relationship and talent, what factors go into who you choose to collaborate with?
KTWC: A lot of the time and distance. The ability to vibe out and create together at any point is a big factor for me, so proximity plays a part as well.

West Coast EDM: There’s always a favorite - for you, it sounds like “Sriracha”. How did you describe your vision to Rahn that ultimately resulted in a final version just a week later?
KTWC: For real! All I said was I was looking for something with summer vibes and Rahn Harper honestly nailed it. I was blown away especially at how quick it was.

West Coast EDM: What are some pro tips you’ve picked up from the other artists you’ve worked with along the way?

KWTC: "I think being confident in releasing music that may not necessarily follow current trends or genres. That’s how you come to stand out."

West Coast EDM: What festivals have you not yet checked off your bucket list?
KTWC: Bonnaroo, Burning Man, and Tomorrowland.

West Coast EDM: Favorite app?
KTWC: Glitche.
